BBQ Chicken Using Home-made BBQ Sauce

This BBQ sauce is mildly spicy, yet there's a hint of piquantness. The cumin, garlic and ginger may be adjusted to your taste. Enhancing the flavour in this sauce is the sesame oil - we highly recommend giving it a try.

For the BBQ Sauce combine:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 and 1/2 Tbsp Siracha chili sauce (or any hot sauce you have)
  • 2 Tbsp Sesame oil (you can substitute with olive oil)
  • 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard (any mustard works in this recipe)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

    1. Line a metal baking pan with parchment paper and lay about 6 medium size chicken legs (washed first) on the pan
    2. Preheat oven to 375
    3. Bake FIRST with NO BBQ sauce for 20 minutes – then add BBQ sauce every 20 minutes (total cooking time to be 65 minutes)
