Farewell Fiona...

Fee Watson
My friend Fiona ("Fee") passed away unexpectedly yesterday, October 11, 2011.  Having known her since I was 13 she really was more than a friend.

Fee and I grew up together like sisters, best friends.  We were room-mates during our teens at a residence we lived in Willowdale (North Toronto).  Even then, she was wise beyond her years.  Fiona kept me honest when I was bent on rebelling ... her integrity and charm over-flowed to everyone who came into her path.  A beautiful heart full of compassion and friendship for others less fortunate.  Fiona befriended and gave her attention willingly to the weak and lost.  She really was a good person.

My friend Fiona was an amazing person and gifted writer.  She worked for CTV for about 12 or 13 years then freelanced as a writer for the Board of Ed. in Toronto and the Atlantis TV Network among others.  She just had her first children's book published earlier this year - she co-authored the book with

a friend.

I MUST get her book ... it's a part of her legacy.

Fee was absolutely hillarious.  Being born in England from English parents she was very quick witted.  Honestly, no one in my life has ever been able to make me laugh as much and as hard as Fiona did.  I know many others felt the same.

She was very beautiful and some even called her an Amazon.  At 16, Fee was 6'2", the tallest girl in the school!  Despite having a severe form of Muscular Dystrophy (Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy) most people who knew her NEVER EVER dared consider her 'weak'.
Fiona (Fee) Watson will always remain a prominent figure of wisdom, wit and kindness in my life.  I miss her dearly and my heart aches that her voice will no longer be heard.

May the Lord welcome her with loving strong arms as she climbs the eternal stairway to Heaven.

Rest in peace my friend.  I love you. xo
